Chris Heath
Chris is an experienced R&D tax specialist and FCCA-qualified accountant, focused on helping clients identify, prepare, and deliver robust R&D tax claims. He’s known for his ability to clearly explain complex tax concepts to non-specialists, ensuring clients understand the process and can confidently maximise their claims. At Kene, he leads workshops, supports clients in identifying qualifying R&D activity, and prepares engaging, well-supported technical reports that stand up to scrutiny.
Chris holds an MA in Economic and Social History from the University of Glasgow and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He began his career in audit at EY, and later delivered R&D work at Blick Rothenberg, working with a broad client base across motorsport, robotics, satellite communications, fintech, and software. He’s also advised international businesses expanding into the UK and has experience in transfer pricing and international tax.
Some of Chris’s proudest work includes supporting a multi-million-pound R&D claim for a motorsport tech group, diving into satellite communication innovations, and working with a fintech company developing technology to detect people trafficking and modern slavery through financial data.
Outside of work, Chris is a dad of three, a keen swimmer, live music fan, and a home beer brewer – complete with hops growing in his own garden.
