Matthew leads Kene SA, where he’s focused on building a culture that nurtures growth, collaboration and high performance. By combining strong mentorship with clear strategic direction, Matthew ensures the team consistently delivers value to both clients and the wider business.

With a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and over a decade of industry experience, Matthew’s career began in automotive design before transitioning into capital project planning in the FMCG sector. His specialisms include food and beverage manufacturing, hygienic production environments, and process and facility design.

He’s particularly proud of his work across Africa, from feasibility studies for dairy production in the Eastern Cape to optimising industrial bakery networks in northern South Africa. One standout project involved leading technical due diligence and strategy development for a large-scale milk powder facility in rural Uganda on behalf of a South African investment group.

When he’s not leading teams or tackling technical challenges, Matthew enjoys Cape Town’s great outdoors with his family – or discovering new local wine farms. A self-proclaimed sports fanatic, he still plans to dust off his trail running shoes any day now...
